London’s newest prestige healthcare facility, Chelsea Outpatient Centre, has opened at 280 Kings Road bringing state of the art diagnostic technology and dozens of London’s top specialists into the centre of Chelsea for the first time.

This new satellite clinic of the renowned Lister Hospital, is designed to help people living and working or visiting Chelsea to get fast access to a range of top specialists, diagnostic facilities and specialist medical staff.

The £5 million centre is equipped with the latest MRI, X-Ray and Ultrasound technology plus a full field digital mammography machine.  The centre has 13 consulting rooms and three treatment rooms where minor procedures and tests can be carried out.

280 Kings Road was previously occupied by a firm of architects and the split level ultra-modern and vibrant design is laid out to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for patients, doctors and staff alike.  All of the medical specialities practiced at The Lister Hospital are represented at Chelsea Outpatient Centre.

The building is linked digitally to the hospital so that consultant radiologists and others can view diagnostic images and report to a patient’s consultant in a matter of minutes, speeding up the diagnostic process and enabling treatment to begin faster.

The centre was conceived and developed by the Chief Executive of The Lister Hospital, James Barr.  “People living and working in Chelsea and their doctors told us there was a need for a major health facility closer to where they live and work and that fast access to some of the UK’s top consultants and the latest diagnostic technology was imperative,” he said.

“We looked for some time for a suitable location and when this stunning building became available, we snapped it up.  We have an outstanding team of consultants and medical staff here and I am delighted that Dr Brian O’Connor, the distinguished consultant in respiratory medicine from King’s College, has agreed to be our Medical Director.”

The centre’s consultants cover around 20 specialities ranging from breast care and dermatology to general medicine, gynaecology, orthopaedics, respiratory medicine and urology.

Chelsea Outpatient Centre is also part of the HCA CancerCare network with consultants working in the areas of skin cancer, prostate disease, breast, gynaecological and certain male cancers.
